EcoSikh is planting 1,820 Guru Nanak Sacred Forests with 550 native trees at each location. These forests are being named after Guru Nanak, the founder of the Sikh faith. Each forest is 200-300 square feet with 30-35 native species of trees. 99% of the trees survive and thrive in our forests and the growth of these trees is phenomenal.
About Guru Nanak Sacred Forest Project: Under this project EcoSikh will be facilitating the micro forests in the urban and rural areas of India and especially Punjab with a focus to conserve flora and fauna of the land, preserve the endangered plant species, improve soil biodiversity, air quality and to check the depleting water table of Punjab and many other states in India.
