One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. Our projects span the globe and are done in partnership with local communities and knowledgeable experts to create an impact for nature, people, and wildlife. Reforestation helps to rebuild forests after fires and floods, provide jobs for social impact, and restore biodiversity. Many projects have overlapping objectives, creating a combination of benefits that contribute to the environment, overall health and the strengthening of communities.
One Tree Planted partners with various agencies and organizations at the Federal, State, and local levels to implement reforestation projects, and with private businesses to help finance them. Our partners for this submission are the following institutions: United States Forest Service, Living Land and Water, Mahoosuc Pathways Inc., Forest Releaf of Missouri, New Jersey Forest Service, Western Reserve Land Conservancy, The Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and the Connecticut River Conservancy.

Sustainable Forestry: A number of our projects work within Sustainable Forestry Initiative forest management standards.
Nursery Development: We are speaking with partners that are able to scale their nursery operations through additional funding from One Tree Planted.
Tree Protection through Management: In each of our tree planting projects, the areas being restored are put under management plans that account for landscape-scale conservation needs.
Data and Technological Tools: We support and encourage the use of technology in regards to tracking and monitoring trees and are committed to finding the best tools to support our projects.
Environmental Education: We have a highly visual and teacher-friendly curriculum we call the T.R.E.E.S. program which covers topics related to climate change, biodiversity, and kid-friendly facts, ideas and activities related to all things sustainability.
Conservation: The primary goal of many of our projects is ecosystem restoration and the protection of sensitive habitats including wildlife and fisheries habitat as well as watershed protection.
Our projects are managed by our on-the-ground partners that are experts in their local ecosystems and their proposals typically emphasize a mix of local native tree species. One Tree Planted has our own team of forestry experts that will be doing annual visits to these projects to ensure responsible stewardship is implemented and maintained.
