Planting of 5000 Oregon White Oak TreesTotal Trees Pledged: 5,000
We have committed $10,000 to American Forests for them to partner with local organizations and NGOs to plant a total of 5000 Oregon White Oak trees, a threatened species, in Oregon and Washington State over the next 18 months. Burnside Whiskey's were developed as an exploration into the various flavor qualities of the Oregon White Oak (Quercus Garryana). Because Oregon White Oak is a threatened species, we only use barrels made from trees that fall from natural causes. In partnership with American Forests organization, Burnside has committed to help protect, plant and restore the Oregon Oak Tree population in the PNW.
American Forests primarily who are developing local partnerships with Oregon Forestry, US Fish and Wildlife, Metro, Bureau of Land Management, Williamette National Forest, and the Oak Accord, on our behalf to secure land and insure tree plantings.
Working with American Forests and local partners, we will responsibly address all three of the issues outlines above
